Unsafe New York: Part 7a: Psyche abused = a body abused

RATIONALIZATION AND UNEXAMINED ASSUMPTIONS: ALLOWANCE AND ITS CONSEQUENCE
Or The Power Of Self Induced Stupidity

"I am sure there is an explanation"
"This can't be as bad as it seems"

"You probably don't remember it right"
"Only for now. It will change later."

"Just look at it differently"

"Its only one more time"
"I am sure there is an explanation" (and when isn't there one?)
Rationalizations or to use a common term excuses, are a thing used widely and undoubtfully. What are these "rationalizations"? They are explanations by nature, by genus, but of a wrong intent by species. Rationalizations are explanations of an outright violation, weakness or stupidity, and are designed to excuse and absolve from responsibility a person by whom they are being made, or the person on behalf on whom the person is making the excuses. We excuse or - rationalize to ourselves countless offenses. People stand us up, fuck us over, cheat us, beat us up, deceive us, misrepresent us, tell us outright lies. They mess with out perceptions and make us accept things that are ridiculous - sometimes through the usage of force, but most of the time through just baffling and stupefying their victims..our own selves! We, by our refusal to look at things as they are and not in the light of what we would have liked them to be; as they are and not as our compassion for someone or their insistence makes us. We excuse the behavior that should not be excused. We find explanations in motifs, past experiences, traumas, expectations as if we were psychologists. We are not. We are not suppossed to be walking around picking up after other people left their mess behind just because we have hearts and souls. We are people living our lives and have to find excuses for no one. People come to us as adult and can't expect their credit to be constantly cleaned up after messing up royally and majorly. We are not supposed to analyze people - this is a job of psychologists and mothers and fathers, we are supposed to face them and deal with them. Only close relationships should afford this closeness of understanding. After all, if we do forgive and forget that easily, we are nothing more than simple creatures with no internal life, no values, no expectations, values and expectations to which our human station entitles us. And people are owed nothing by us, but owe us a level of interaction just like we owe them. Nothing more and nothing less.
All else is conditional upon a situation. By the way, to psychologically attempt to dirve a person to loose his or her self-control when that person has not done anything wrong, is wrong. It is an outright violation of the human spirit, classified as "harassment" and when pursued continuously and over time constitutes a higher offence and could be equaled with physical perpetrations. "Assault, misdemenor, manslaughter, murder" are all terms that describe a violence done to a physical body, since we have more that one body and our psyche has been proven to exist, it too constitutes a body and therefore, can be hurt. Since we take measures to protect the physical body because everyone is entitled to safety and peace, so we should take measures to protect the psyche, for it is an extension of the same logic. And to protect the psyche from hurts and from being taken an advantage, we must look at the actiosn done against her in order to devise ways and means to classify the assaults against her and to find ways to defend her.
When can you tell someone is striking against your psyche and what are a few examples? Besides this entire blogue mentioning things of this nature, here are some more examples. Especially if that someone is outrightly rude, obnoxious and absolutely infantile. We are equals in a state of a Democracy, and as such we co-exist. This means we lead our lives, and they - theirs. Their psychological motives and fucked-upness is in no way our business. We are not a carpet upon which all and any can wipe their feet. We should not loose a sight of common humanity and extend a reasonable understanding but to excuse (even to ourselves!) a childish, 10 year old behavior in a 30+ male or female is somewhat a stretch. Don't you think? Yes, as much as we all do not want to grow up, being in our twenties is not the same as being in our fifties. Or thirties. Or fourties. Each age, depending on where we are, from and what we are doing with our lives carries certain responsibility. Besides having a psychological responisiblity to know what is allowed and what is not, just like one has a physical responsibility to know what is allowed and what is not, one must also know what offences her or his transgressions constitute.
As to how to understand what is right and what is wrong, the guide is similar to what gave rise to physical prohibitons and the accompanying arising law. Just like ignorance of the law does not excuse from its fulfillment, just like negligence is punishable, so is ignorance and negligence of the laws of the health of the psyche. These laws are not hard to know, they are mostly common sense and common decency. For example, look at our biology. Biologically, we - both genders, are on the clock. The earth makes its revolutions-per-year. So does the sun. Not to say we should start counting time as the ancients did, we are not 8 or so thousands years ago, but there are certain laws, shall we say, that bind us to them and in turn affect us. Laws that understand our nature and guide us to the best course of action possible, an evolutionary course towards good things and enlightment.
Laws of propriety have a reflection of the needs of psyche and should nbe definetely looked into. Why can't we take off our cloth and walk around completely naked on a hot New York day? It is the same rule that governs the understanding that a pregnant woman or an elder person need a seat more than we do. She can also seat whenever she likes at certain points in her pregnancy.
An accompanying fact of a Democratic state is that no one person is entitled to control or manipulate the perception or behavior of another any more than the next person. A right of self-governance and self-representation is law of democracy. That law must be observed lest there is a violation against that state and nature of. So, whoever manipulates others and takes advantage of them is directly in violation of the law of Democracy. Those who seem to think they owe it to cave in and serve, are mistaken. A "smart" choice of servitude is a behavior best conducive and appropriate to survival under the state of oligarchy. A state of blind obedience and absolute terror is a propery of tyrranny. The US of A is a democracy. Therefore, none of the indicated behaviors are to be expected or should be executed. In fact, executing them constitutes an offence a state of Democracy, and therefore, treason.
So much for rationalization. So as has been concluded through a combined technique of observation and logical application, rationalization allows for behavior that is corrupting, allows negative influences to pass and negative work to increase. Specific examples will be provided more, later. And what about unexamined assumptions? The unexamined assumptions are subconsious mechanisms whereby all 5 Constitutional(amendments and related to them laws, are extensions of the Sacred Costitution) no-nos are allowed to pass unnoticed. For example, if you "know" that a woman that screams at someone else, regardless of a context of a situation, is a "bitch" than any woman screaming at anybody else is automatically given an unfavorable impression and review. She is a bitch. Her case is ALWAYS the one of the bitch's case. If you "know" than any black person with a hand in his pocket carries a gun, than any person with a hand in his pocket is automatically a hazard and should be dealt with. If you "know" that that is how things "are done" than anytime things happen within the category of "these are things that are always done this way" you will never question the things nor the manner in which they are conducted. You will "go with the flow" and either will conduct a rationalization of evil or will overlook a true case of a sufferer and fellow person, in need. This is dangerous.
These wonderful and enightening assumptions are based on age old prejudices, expectations and thoughts that are no longer even conscious in us, but are a collective unconsious we all share. This "unconsious" became an accumulated body of knowledge that is not necessarily justified or proper but is there. This "unconsciou" was once very conscious effort of some people who through a combined technique of fear application and ignorance promotion installed certain barriers and encouraged certain perceptions in people, in order to take advantage of them or someone else. Observe how the unconscious allowed to go on without being questioned brings forth horrible tortures and unjust mutilations of human spirit and body. One may even compare man-made unconscious to the dominion of the devil, hell. Some people conside it to be ok to drown baby-girls in the river, or to bind their growning up daughters' feet by breaking the toe bones. Both actions stem from unconscious belief that women are a property of men and are inferior and a burden. Over time, the reasoning of these actions became lost and only a subconscious knowledge that "this is how things are and always have been done" remained. Unconscious knowledge has a strength and a conviction of a true belief and often feels a 100%, absolutely and unquestioanbly, right. Unless examined, the assumptions will remain creating much misery and continuously breeding stupidity in the population. This is bad.
These various "knowledges" perpetuate misogyny, racism, nationalism, discrimination of all sorts. These "I just know it" feelings that have a feeling of certainty to them and when attacked seem to threaten the ediffice of our own selves, allow for new situations to pass unexamined for their specific content. Because we already "know." Because we follow the old pattern. Because we will not let neither the new nor the truth, in.
Since the unconsious mind only needs limited incoming information to match it with its files for classifying something as life threatening or not (since the job of our unconsious systems is defense of life and vital functions; its function is not to evolve us further, unlike the function of a consious mind, but simply to ensure our survival as is. As I indicated previously, unconscious relies on psychology which relies on a very small percentage of likeness when making its comparisons, because when it comes to survival, a slightest resemblance to danger CONSTITUTES danger itself) a very small likeness is enough for classification. This is what in non-psychological lay terms is known as "prejudice." The practise of prejudice is known as "discrimination." When we apply a blanket general matching to everyday situations, the results are often comic and most of the time tragic. Often they are absurd. For example, we see a man on the bus, screaming on the phone. We catch the words: you never let me live, you always judge me, you can keep no friendships, and our brains set to work. We react. We can't help it, unless...we help it and do not engage in the absurdity in the situation and a normalcy in a field of survival. To rationalize our brains processing other people's affairs in this case is to engage in rationalizations. When our mind sets to work, we start "seeing" the person on the other side, the invisible and unknown speaker as: controlling, judgemental, and apparently unsociable. And is the person on the bus use some phrasing that give away the gender of a person on the other line as "she" we rejoice with the thought of "that bitch." As I indicated earlier, it is programmed into our systems to hate women and if we are women, to hate and despise ourselves. This new incoming information - the overheard conversation, has been matched with our anals of "women are bitches-all, unless pliant, subservient and listen to the men" and we have a "conclussion"! The fact may be that the woman on the other side may be stood up, may be demanding her loan of a large sum of money, has been cheated on the guy on the bus, is the guy's boss, or one of the many other different possibilites. But the false and presumptious premise "women are stupid and must be controlled and only are good when are madonna-types and listen to the man" allows us to classify all women very simply. In fact, women classification happens mostly if not only on these psychological premises, and all based on the premises of "women are inferior" and "women create trouble". Why women are inferior, why is it that they create trouble and why is it that women creating trouble is not good, is never brought up to the light of reason. The unasked and correspondingly unanswered questions remain burried in the darkness of the unconscious mind. And the greedy ones like it to remain that way, thank you very much!
There is also a thing in human world about affinity. Affinity is another survival tool on which the greedy ones capitalize majorly. Here is the basic nature of affinity. We feel instinctive affinity with the ones who display "our" traits and share "our" likes and dislikes. In other words, we like similarity, though we profess to love difference. We love difference only in the case of it serving us somehow, like when men like women, they like the fact that women can serve them or please them. But when we seek comfort of friendship on a deeper level, we seek out the similar. Difference can serve us but it cannot be our equal. I hope this conclusion is self-evident, but we could trace it later, at one on my logic sessions. So, similarity. If a man on the bus is dressed like us, acts like us and looks like us, if his "problem" reminds us of our "problem", our imagination sets to work and creates a world of an evil person trying to take advantage of this poor guy! Since it is a largely implemented and unofficial official policy for men to hate and despise women, take advantage of them and object to women's objection to being treated thusly, a large percentage of men will relate to other men having "girl trouble." Since women are made to have inferior positions and are jealous because of that, they will side with the guy against the girl. A large percentage of men and a large percentage of women in any population, make a large percentage of that population! And affinity on the base of gender in men and women (who associate, of course, with the abuser) is so strong that any woman regardless of her accomplshments and success is bound to be judged negatively even from a phone conversation that is overheard on the bus! There is an image of a woman that exists, independent of that woman, and that has been created and fed and maintained for centuries now. All independent attempts on the part of women often end up in fiasco because the image is strong, powerful and has many vested interests. Only very strong and very brave and very protected can escape. And that, if they don't come back to help the others, will not deconstruct the image. Again, althouhg the situation may be that the guy is at fault and forgot to do something, it is irrelevant to the crowd: the woman will be judged.
How do people use affinity? In this and similar situation, one may use it to get immediate support or simply to ensure himself of his "rightenes" even when he is wrong. After all, if a man is ALWAYS right and it is being confirmed, then he is...never wrong! He can do no wrong! How? Impossible - he is always right! Regardless of time, place, circumstance, situation, he is God! He can get away with murder! So the patriarchy says and you will be repressed if you say otherwise! Warning!
The point is that if not coscious, our thought process is very biased and incorrect. We are racists, nationalists, genderists, straightists, religious fundamentalists, anti dissability people, and persecutors of genius. These "beliefs" disallow the lives of the individuals precisely because each person is denied a chance for her or his unique story, unique expression, own way. Jews are stinky money thieves, Negros are dumb, women are to be used, another religion is to be destroyed...
Besides being unjust and untrue, prejudices, blanket statements, improperly conducted judgements ("judgement" is a neutral word, a function that it describes is such as to sort things out; a connotative meaning of the word only comes in as a result of use or misuse, and has nothing to do with the function proper of the word) and discrimination applied to wrong areas or inappropriately, to innocent people obliterate the individuals and the truth and create a shadow realm of patterns and citizenship of zombies. There is no communication with this psychology. There is no life with this psychology. There is no progression with this psychology but only an endless, useless and irrational war. Together with rationalization, the unexamined assumptions are weapons of mass destruction, destroy en masse individual expression, justice, truth, hope, faith and humanity.
An ancient and curt statement will serve to summarize my thought: "An unexamined life is not worth living." Would you like to be the one to destroy humanity and its potential? If not, start thinking before you gladly rejoice at the scene you are witnessing, as a passer-by. Let the scene pass, as its due and do not enmesh yourself into it, potentially becoming a destroyer of a human life or a relationship. Don't join in on a discussion of a fight on the train, unless its fundamental to your survival. Don't dress up your unjustified and extensive curiosity as necessity, don't lie to yourself. Do not call your friend who has irritated you, even to yourself, a "spoiled brat," or a "jewish boy," or a J.A.P," or a "daddy's daughter," or a "stupid bitch." or a "whore," or a "negro," or a "foreigner." Outline the cause of your discontent and address it accordingly.

PS. In the next chapter I will show how prejudices eventually become guidelines for behavior, fear and threat of being discriminated against - used to make people act, dress, and even walk the way the one who uses the prejudices against them, wants. These irrational and forced behaviors eventually too, become "unconscious" expectations and patterns, narrowing the circumference of a person until only her gender, his color, her nationality, his race remain as the guidelines. These factors are important in knowing one another, as today, but should not be reversed and used to keep the person trapped. They are factors to be considered, not factors that one can use. To use these factors, is to practice bigotry. To acknowledge these factors is to practice reason. The variety and shade of human expression become limited and then extinct, with certain people only holding an unfair, unconstitutional (anti 5 no-nos and so much more) advantage over others in a STATE OF A DEMOCRACY.
To summarize, the reasons this horror of a state (as in "situation) is allowed to fly are 4:
1. Rationalization.
2. Unexamined assumptions/prejudices
3. Self interest
4. Lack of education
