ABOUT THE WRITER

Dana Zakharov is a member of a persecuted and almost exterminated tribe: the ancient keepers of the memories, ideals, preservers and protectors of the world cultural, ethnic, traditional, religious, spiritual and performance arts customs, ways, heritage.
Dana is a representative mixed a certain way and following in a tradition and way of those who understand and see. Most lay people of today, practicing random breeding and Judeo-Christianity won't be able to understand: suffice to say to them that Dana is a two spirit, transgendered male, monk, priest in training, performance artist and a Gypsy boi who lives in Brooklyn, writes on subject matters of social, political, spiritual and tribal consciousness, works as a naturopathic practitioner and is dedicated via a Bramacharyah vow to the Lord Shiva and a number of other Gods in the pantheon.
Dana has changed his name many years ago and goes either by Zeno or Gabriel, and a number of other names. These are not stage names; they are spirit and shaman names. Each names stands for something and must be honored and respected.
Gabriel has writen and published plays, and is currently working on cutting of the ties to the lay world that he feels hold him from fully becoming a priest of Shiva and a dedicated devotee and a Bramacharyah who is a Sacred Temple Performance Dancer and Director.
Zakharov's life goal lies in creating a safe and protective space for the dying out, persecuted, lost and misunderstood world cultures, traditions, customs, tribes, religions, spiritualities and performance arts. To that end he dedicates most of his time.
Zakharov is very busy; besides having enrolled in a very full priest-in training program, he is attending a 7 year liberal arts and sciences college, student of performance arts and directing, a practicing yogi, internal martial artist, starting naturopathic practitioner, coach and counsellor, and an aspiring preserver and protector of the world cultural, tribal, ethnic, religious and spiritual, performance arts and martial arts heritage and traditions. He also appreciates and studies various games: card, board, interactive, computer, of the world people.
Zakharov splits his time skillfully between all these various studies, works, dedications and committments. He believes that Gods have a plan for him, or otherwise he would not have been faced with a task of such an importance and proportion: the preservation of the cultural, tribal, ethnic, traditional, religious, spiritual, performance arts heritage of the world.
